Aitah for not wanting to give my friend the kitten he wants

My boyfriend J's coworker discovered a litter of kittens, and my friend expressed interest in adopting one.
  • 03
He agreed to take in one of the kittens, with the condition that she will be vaccinated before handing her over to him.
  • 04
He will give me money for the medical bills. We brought two kittens home on Saturday, as one is ours, and today is Tuesday.
  • 05
I informed my friend about the kittens' arrival and sent him pictures on Saturday, but since then, he hasn't inquired about his kitten,
  • 06
nor have I sent any additional photos.
  • 07
If I were eager to adopt a cat, I would be persistently asking about her, even though I am more of a dog person.
  • 08
We already have four dogs, and the kitten meant for my friend has become quite attached to our female dog, seemingly thinking she is her mother.
  • 09
We are also growing fond of the kitten. I feel guilty because my friend has already purchased items for the kitten.
  • 10
I am seeking advice on this situation.
  • 11
P.S. In my defense, I did mention to him that if the kitten came home with us, there was a chance he wouldn't get her.
  • 12
Considering we now have six pets, including his cat, she feels like part of our family.

ImAnNPCsoWhat NTA if you reimburse your friend. If you're keeping the cat. But 4 days of attachment does not mean you'll traumatize the kitten
  • 15
if you continue with the adoption. Friend not contacting you for 4 days is hella odd tho. He doesn't need to be insistent about kitten updates, but you'd expect friend to say something.

peakpenguins I mean, yeah it's an ah le move to go back on an agreement. I get feeling attached to the kitten, but if you
  • 17
intend to keep her yourself, you at least need to pay him back the money he spent, and don't be surprised if he's upset about it.
  • 18
New_Science6248 OP He hasn't paid anything towards her. She is still too young for vaccinations.
  • 19
peakpenguins Are there any other kittens from the litter available? You said he already purchased items for the kitten, so he's out that money too which would obviously be annoying.
  • 20
New_Science6248 OP That I will do if he isn't able to return them

Full Pace7666 YTA How much he's inquiring or asking is irrelevant. What is relevant is that you went back on an agreement.
